New beta posted. Fixed a couple of bugs regarding multiple selections. Added resume playback, a new directory naming style and a few more "variables" for the templates.

June 30, 2003
Added templates for "Export to HTML" and "Show Album Cover". What that means is that you can customize the look and feel of those 2 functions. Also updated the installer to NSIS2, which looks a hell lot better! Grab it at the beta page.

AL 1.42 is out! Note: I haven't received update on some languages, so some languages may have English strings in them. :\ For the list of changes, go to the history page. I'll probably work on Winamp 2.9 enhancements for the next version amongst other things. Just in case you wonder, AL works fine as is with Winamp 2.9. Just not taking advantage of the new APIs and skin bitmaps.

January 17, 2003
New beta for you all to play with before it goes "final". Mainly added stuff from v1.39b2 that Andreas wrote a while ago. Support for multiple CD albums for one, reworked "rename" album dialog, etc.

Happy Holidays! New beta before the year ends. Fixed a few major problems with the first beta, multiple file types should work now, as with OGG/FLAC/etc support.

November 11, 2002

Dutch translation ready for download, thx Nuke Nike! In addition to, you can now use as well.

August 12, 2002
René sent me a Faroese translation, thanks! And since I get so many emails about Album List for Winamp3, I will answer that question here.

Yes, I'm currently working on it. No, it is not available yet. Yes, it will probably take a few months to get everything working. No, I'll still work on the WA2 version along with WA3. Yes, you have to be patient. On a final note, the more I read/work on it, the more I think it is another bloated software, much like Windows Media Player 7+ (which I hate) compared to 6.4 (which I love, nice and simple rulez)! I seriously doubt I will use WA3 everyday but I guess time will tell.

August 5, 2002
Added Romanian translation from Vicky!

August 4, 2002
Just got a Swedish translation from hagman! That brings the number of available languages to 13! Keep those translations coming! ;-)

July 30, 2002
Added Winamp Lyrics Plugin to the links page. Also, to the guy "Nuke Nike" who emailed me about a Dutch translation, I would love to have it, but somehow your email does not include a reply email address, so if you could email me again, that would be great! And finally, I'm writing a "readme" for Album List. Check it out here. Tell me what you think in the Forum. Thanks!

Paul, please don't kill me for stealing your readme "design", okay?! ;-)

July 26, 2002
Todd had released version 3 of the Lucidamp, the semi-transparent winamp plugin, with Album List support! Check it out at his site. By the way, I had made a new install for v1.41 using NSIS. If you would like to try it out, get it here, keep in mind that this is the same v1.41 that I released 2 weeks ago, so no
new features, just a new (un)install.

July 19, 2002
Updated the links page. Added a french winamp site, and a bunch of winamp plugins that support Album List.

It doesn't work too well when there is a new version out and the host goes down, does it? Anyway, thanks to a fellow plugin developer, Paul, we now have a mirror. You can visit his web site here. So, please bookmark with the url. That way, you'll be reaching some page, not just an error.

May 15, 2002
AL v1.40 is released. Get it here. This package includes French, German, Japanese, and Spanish translations. Again, if you have time and want to help me translate AL to other languages, send me an email! The OGG support DLL will be available shortly.

April 15, 2002
the next version is coming along nicely. I'm adding language pack support, anyone wanna translate AL? send me an email if you do!

April 11, 2002
updated the history page, so you know what's coming. I'm a bit hesitant about adding OGG support right now, it adds another 100kb or so to the DLL. Not that size matters that much but it would force other developers to download and install the vorbis sdk. I might put the OGG support in a separate DLL instead in a future release. What do you think Case? and Toshiya Matsuo, I had "merged" your DEF_JPATCH defines in the source, so you don't have to re-do the changes the next time around.

March 11, 2002
pedator has done it again, get the Spanish version of the plugin here. Also, you can get the Japanese version here, thanks to Toshiya Matsuo.

Februray 8, 2002

February 3, 2002
The new host is working now! No more ads and stuff! Mike, thanks again! To celebrate this special moment, AL 1.37 is out! Go get it! To see what's new, check the history page.

January 17, 2002
A belated Happy New Year! Anyway, Kevin sent me a link to a modified version of AL which fixes the play previous album bug. Get it here. Also thanks to Mike Ashcraft, he is hosting the files for me. The new url is Once the hit counter is working, will be updated to redirect to that site instead of geocities.

August 20, 2001
pedator sent me a Spanish version of the plugin. You can get it here.

June 27, 2001
Posted new version 1.36. Since I'm very busy these days, I had also posted the latest source code, so if you're a programmer and would like to make enhancements, go ahead and email me the changes. I'll incorporate them in future releases.

February 8, 2001
Posted new beta today. Also a new sdk for developers. Main feature added being "Play all albums" along with a few bug fixes, check history for details.

January 1, 2001
Happy New Year! With the new look, there is a little inconvenience with geocities' AdSquare, it is blocking the navigation bar. But luckily, there is a glitch in their AdSquare code. If it is linked from a different web server, like, it won't show up. So, if you're using geocities to get to this site, it is recommended to use or audiogalaxy instead. The files and web pages are still stored on geocities. I don't want to use scripts to remove the AdSquare (yes, it can be done) as it might violate TOS and cause them to disable my account.

December 29, 2000
Thanks to hagman, this website has a new look, hope you like it!

December 20, 2000
It's been a year now since I released this plugin to the public. What started as a small enhancement for myself has developed into something much bigger than I anticipated. Version 1.36 beta is available! Download it here. Nothing important in this release unless you're going to interface with AL or you have MP3 files that has Chinese/Japanese/Korean ID3 tags.

November 12, 2000
Version 1.35 is available! Download it here.

October 31, 2000

May 19, 2000
Added "FAQ" page. New version will be uploaded on Victoria Day (May 22, 2000).

May 7, 2000
New version is coming soon, real soon. I'm testing it right now. The album "cache" has been changed to "cache and scan", it looks pretty good right now. It combines the advantages from both the scanning and caching in that it will still update your album list at start while improving speed. Check back soon. Oh, also check the "History" page for what is coming.

April 22, 2000
Happy Easter! Fixed the URL problem on the download pages. Just got my APEX DVD player. It works great and it plays MP3 CDs too! The album list in the player is not as good as what you get here. It just lists all the directory names in 8 characters (no long name support and uses only uppercase characters).

April 13, 2000
Posted 3 AL enhanced skins by go 22.

April 11, 2000
Finally, version 1.25 is out. Click here to get it.

April 5, 2000
Long time since my last update, just fixed a crash with those Xing VBR MP3 files. Been busy trying out MicroDVD. Well, version 1.25 is coming out soon. Oh, by the way, anyone want to create a banner for AL? Here are the rules, 468x60 GIF, no transparency, and less than 10Kb. If it is animated, animation stops at 7 seconds and does not include loops. Submit your banner to

I just wanted to clarify that the new "skin substitution" system works with ALL the skins out there, just that about 50% of them looks perfect, 10% of them looks ugly, and the rest 40% looks just OK. Tested AL on Japanese Windows 98.

March 22, 2000 22:00 EST
Posted new skin "Simplex 2" from Advocate.

March 22, 2000
I guess I will start putting logs here so you guys know what I am working on at the moment. OK, here we go. For the past few days, I had fixed a font problem when using AL on a Hebrew system. It had been tested with the help of a fellow user. I also tested it on Traditional Chinese Windows 98 today. Apart from that, during a recent dicussion with my friend, Tonic, in the next release you will be able to use playlist editor's bitmap as the skin for AL. This should work for 50% of the skins out there. That's all for today.
